Project Name: PHSD Southeast Elementary School
KCA reorganized the exterior traffic patterns at Southeast Elementary School, part of the Park Hill School District. Buses, car riders and pedestrians came together in a cumbersome way that caused delays in getting children in & out of the school. The new enlarged parking lot separated bus & car traffic giving pedestrians an obvious route to pick-up or drop-off points & to nearby sidewalks leading to & from the school. Interiors were also redesigned with the help of a new building addition to safely monitor this daily event while improving the mid-day security of the building. Staff & Principal offices were brought out of the interior of the building & placed front & center adjacent to the building’s entry/exit sequence. Secure vestibules allow mid-day building entry through the main office only while allowing free exiting for emergencies. All visitors are now greeted prior to gaining access to the school and then logged out as they leave.
