Authorized & funded by the US Dept of Admin this Behavioral Health Veterans Crisis Call Center, facilitate & services US Veterans nationwide 24 hours every day of the year, with qualified, caring responders answering calls of Service members, their families, and friends in times of crisis. VA Responders, many Veterans themselves, share stories and experiences to provide vital support and referrals for Veterans and loved ones. This project renovates and reconfigures an existing 2nd-floor space at the Topeka VA Medical Center, to correct functional layout issues & expand the Veteran Crisis Line Call Center. The design also includes the new asphalt parking to provide 200 parking spaces, security parking lot lights, & a dedicated uninterruptable power supply, an EM power generator & ATS. The facility was designed to have an updated zone control, climate control, and VRF system, for both heating & cooling. Closed/open offices are provided throughout with new furnishings, new toilet facilities, a kitchen, break room, locker room, conference rooms, meditation room, and miscellaneous service rooms. Elevator upgrades have occurred for aesthetics as well as for security.
